Apex Companies - Project Scientist (1524) - San Diego

Responsibilities

  • Self-perform environmental consulting projects with minimal supervision.
  • Contribute to development of proposals and budgets.
  • Write and review technical reports and proposals.
  • Assist with project management activities.
  • Mentor and train scientific staff and supervise work.
  • Provide peer review for colleagues.

Job Requirements:

Great minds think alike!  Now that we understand each other, let’s sort through the minimum qualifications for this position:

  • BS in Environmental Science or related field
  • 5-10 years of experience performing asbestos, lead-based-paint, and moisture intrusion surveys and abatement oversight; Phase I ESAs; and multi-media sampling.
  • Current 40-hour HAZWOPER and CAC/CSST/AHERA certification
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to successfully multi-task, safety awareness, and a good record and understanding of safe work practices.
  • Light construction experience/hands-on skills a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Approximately 25%-50% field work.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Apex Companies - Staff Geologist - San Diego

Responsibilities

  • Collect soil, water, and soil vapor samples for analysis.
  • Install, or supervise subcontractors installing soil borings, trenches, monitoring wells, and soil vapor wells.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and use a variety of state-of-the-art field equipment, such as PIDs, XRFs, and GPS devices.
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret data.
  • Write technical reports and proposals.
  • Actively develop your own career growth.
Job Requirements:

  • BS in Geology, Hydrogeology, or related field;
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification;
  • At least 2 years of experience performing environmental field sampling and data collection;
  • A hands-on, can-do attitude with an equally strong aptitude for field and office work;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Safety awareness, and a good record and understanding of safe work practices;
  • The ability to successfully multi-task;
  • Strong understanding of Federal, state, and local environmental regulations and standard industry practices;
  • Experience with data management and report preparation; and,
  • Valid driver's license and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Sr. Environmental Planner/Project Manager, CEQA & NEPA - Long Beach, California and Redlands, California (two positions)
