I am a graduating senior majoring in Earth Sciences at UC San Diego and also a passionate prospective graduate student eager to gain experience in Environmental Industry before entering a professional program in Environmental Management. I am looking forward to gaining any shadowing or internship opportunity in the Environmental Industry as I would like to contribute my strong research skills, laboratory and analytical skills, and knowledge of geology, chemistry, and environmental sciences to the company while learning essential practical techniques and exploring the industry.

Job Requirements:

  • BS in Environmental Science or related field
  • 5-10 years of experience performing asbestos, lead-based-paint, and moisture intrusion surveys and abatement oversight; Phase I ESAs; and multi-media sampling.
  • Current 40-hour HAZWOPER and CAC/CSST/AHERA certification
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to successfully multi-task, safety awareness, and a good record and understanding of safe work practices.
  • Light construction experience/hands-on skills a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Approximately 25%-50% field work.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

  • Collect soil, water, and soil vapor samples for analysis.
  • Install, or supervise subcontractors installing soil borings, trenches, monitoring wells, and soil vapor wells.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and use a variety of state-of-the-art field equipment, such as PIDs, XRFs, and GPS devices.
