Julie Chan, Chief, Cleanup and Land Discharge Branch, Regional Water Quality Control Board, San Diego region
Julie Chan is a professional geologist and the chief of the Cleanup and Land Discharge Branch of the San Diego Water Board. Her 25-year career has been devoted entirely to public service, first as a researcher with the USGS, and then as a regulator with the State and Regional Water Boards. But not to worry. Two of her siblings are environmental consultants who try to keep her grounded in reality.
