Sustainable Remediation - Is It Sustainable?

Abstract:
The concept of Sustainable Remediation has been around for more than a decade. Has industry and the regulatory community fully embraced the concepts and benefits of sustainable remediation? Are there other external factors that commonly derail sustainable intentions? This presentation will compare and contrast remedial alternatives with respect to their ability to be considered sustainable and provide a case study of a sustainability evaluation of a remediation project.
Speaker Information:
Mr. Sam Williams is a Principal Hydrogeologist and Vice President for Geosyntec Consultants with over 27 years of professional environmental consulting experience. He is the manager of Geosyntec’s San Diego and Phoenix operations. Sam has a B.S. in Geophysics and an M.S. in Hydrogeology from San Diego State University-GO AZTECS!. Mr. Williams is a Certified Hydrogeologist and Professional Geologist in the State of California, and a Certified Environmental Manager in the State of Nevada.
