Cost:

$30 for members, $35 for non-members, add $5 if reservation is not received by 5pm the Friday before. Online registration will end at noon on the Monday before the event. Walk-ins with no reservation will be charged an extra $10 and be asked to wait until those with reservations are seated.

Please note that confirmed reservations will be invoiced regardless of attendance.

Abstract:

San Diego region’s $220 billion economy and 3.3 million residents rely on a sustainable and reliable supply of water.  Providing a reliable supply can be a challenge considering the uncertainties that can influence water supplies and demands - from climate change to new statewide water-use objectives.  The presentation will inform you about those key uncertainties along with the actions being taken by the San Diego County Water Authority and its 24 member agencies to manage the uncertainties and continue providing a safe and reliable water supply to the San Diego region.

Speaker Information:

Dana Friehauf is a Water Resources Manager at the San Diego County Water Authority. She has been with the Water Authority for thirty years, working in the fields of water resources and facility planning. Ms. Friehauf currently manages water supply planning and policy activities for the Water Authority. She is responsible for the preparation and update of the region’s long-term water demand forecast and supply planning documents, including the Water Authority’s Urban Water Management Plan and Integrated Regional Water Management Plan. She also managed development of the Water Authority’s Water Shortage Contingency Plan along with implementation of the Plan during the last two shortage periods.

Prior to joining the Water Authority, Ms. Friehauf worked for the City of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, and the Goleta Water District in Santa Barbara County. She has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from San Diego State University, and is a registered civil engineer.

Directions from the South: Take I-5 or I-805 N to La Jolla Village Dr. Turn left off the freeway onto La Jolla Village Dr. Turn left on Villa La Jolla Dr. Turn right into Rock Bottom parking lot.
