Understanding & Managing Environmental Risk

Abstract:

Sean’s presentation will review three core agenda items:

-Identifying common environmental risks.

-Highlighting coverage gaps in general liability, property, and auto policies.

-Evaluating and understanding risk transfer solutions.

This review will give environmental professionals the opportunity to explore the role insurance can play in funding for clean-up, allowing for reduction or removal of indemnity / escrow requirements, and creating transactional opportunities that may not otherwise be viable absent the transfer uncertainty regarding potential environmental liabilities. 

Cost:

$30 for members, $35 for non-members, add $5 if reservation is not received by 5pm the Friday before. Online registration will end at noon on the Monday before the event. Walk-ins with no reservation will be charged an extra $10 and be asked to wait until those with reservations are seated.

Please note that confirmed reservations will be invoiced regardless of attendance.

Speaker Information:

Sean began his insurance career with Marsh Risk & Insurance where he functioned as an Assistant Vice President and Environmental Practice Leader. He joined Barney & Barney in 2006 as a Client Executive and helped to develop and lead their Environmental Practice, Prior to joining the insurance community, Sean held an analyst position at Merrill Lynch in their Investment Banking Division.

During his career, Sean has been a student of the industry, earning the professional designations of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Associate in Underwriting (AU), and Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI). He received his bachelors of science in business with a finance focus from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.

As a Principal of Barney & Barney, he uses 14 years of industry experience to craft solutions for legacy, transactional, and operational risks.  Sean provides strategic risk management solutions to his clients with a focus on tailoring products to meet insured’s risk appetite and financial objectives.
