Implementation of the SWRCB Low Threat Closure Policy and Beyond

Abstract:

Mr. Kevin Heaton, will cover the actions and future actions of the County in regards to the implementation of the low threat closure policy and the implications of the policy on the Counties Local Oversight Program in San Diego County.

Speaker Information:

Kevin Heaton has been with the County of San Diego, Department of Environmental Health since 1986 overseeing issues related to water quality, water supply, well construction, waste disposal and environmental investigation and cleanup.  Kevin is the Departments Senior Hydrogeologist and provides technical support to the Department’s Site Assessment and Mitigation Program, Land Use Program, Hazardous Materials Division and the County of San Diego’s Solid Waste Local Enforcement Agency.  Kevin has received a Master degree in Geology from San Diego State University in 1982 and a Bachelor degree from San Diego State University in 1978.  He has been a Professional Geologist in California since 1986 and a Certified Hydrogeologist since 1995.  Kevin has also taught groundwater hydrogeology at University of California Extension at San Diego between 1992 and 1997.
